As part of the activities program of the 51st Annual Meeting of the Spanish Nuclear Society (SNE), to be held in Cáceres from September 22 to 26, an outreach session entitled “Introduction to Nuclear Energy and Nuclear Power Plants” has been organized.
The lecture will take place on September 23, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., in the Sala Malinche of the San Francisco Cultural Complex, and will feature Young Nuclear Professionals as speakers, with the University of Seniors of Extremadura (UMEX) as host.
The aim of this initiative is to bring nuclear science and technology, as well as the work carried out by the sector in Spain, closer to society—specifically to the senior students at the university. It is an opportunity for students and citizens of Cáceres to learn first-hand real facts about nuclear energy and to resolve questions in a friendly and participatory environment.
For the Young Nuclear Professionals, the activity is both a challenge and a source of pride: “It is a pleasure and an honor to play an active role in disseminating knowledge about the nuclear sector. We believe that intergenerational dialogue is essential, as it enriches both young people and seniors. Moreover, we have extensive experience in knowledge transfer, and we are delighted to put it into practice in Cáceres,” they stated.
This initiative is part of the SNE’s commitment to promoting knowledge and scientific outreach, extending the activities of the Annual Meeting beyond the professional sphere and bringing them closer to the public.
