Spain will end this decade as the world leader in the number of proton therapy facilities per capita. This will undoubtedly improve treatments for certain cancers. A major joint effort is therefore needed from the companies developing the technology, the professionals responsible for its application and safety, and the Nuclear Safety Council (CSN), to ensure that this development serves as a model of best practice. It is an exceptional opportunity for our country’s healthcare system.
