Inaugural Conference
“The Alcántara Recipe Book”
At the opening lecture of the 51st Annual Meeting, we will journey to the heart of Extremadura, guided by the renowned writer Jesús Sánchez Adalid.
“The Alcántara Recipe Book” takes us back to the autumn of 1807, on the eve of the Peninsular War. The setting is the Monastery of San Benito de Alcántara, the main seat of the ancient Order of Knighthood, where a unique cultural treasure was kept: the Culinary Recipe Book of the Order of Alcántara — a manuscript that preserved centuries of culinary tradition and had graced the banquets and celebrations of the Order with its splendor.
A truly special way to begin our Annual Meeting.
