From Women in Nuclear Spain we invite you to let yourself be carried away by a unique stage proposal: Helen of Troy as you have never seen or heard her before.
It is not a classic recreation or a monologue. It is a choral and courageous interpretation, in which six women from the nuclear sector – engineers, technicians, scientists – take to the stage to give voice, body and emotion to one of the most fascinating and controversial characters in mythology.
Helena speaks. At last. And she does it from the complexity, the wound, the desire, the lucidity and the rage. She tells us her truth, her story – not the one others wrote for her. She does so in a play inspired by Miguel del Arco’s powerful text, ‘Juicio a una zorra’, directed in this version by Inés Gallego, who has managed to weave a collective tale of great dramatic force.
Who was really Helena? the cause of a war or the perfect scapegoat? the most beautiful or the most silenced? the object or the subject? This montage offers no closed answers, but many necessary questions. And one certainty: it is time to listen to her.
