Manuel Sánchez García is Head of the Medical Physics and Radiation Protection Department at the Santiago de Compostela University Hospital Complex (CHUS), where he has worked as a specialist in Medical Physics since 2008, with responsibilities in Nuclear Medicine, Radiotherapy, Brachytherapy and Proton Therapy.

Since 2024, he has been responsible for Radiation Protection and has coordinated the project to bring the Galicia Proton Therapy Centre into operation, with equipment installation currently underway. He holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Santiago de Compostela, has authored more than 25 articles in international journals and has participated in seven research projects.

Every proton therapy project launched in Spain brings this technology closer to the patients who need it. Our goal is to make it available to them as soon as possible, without ever compromising treatment quality or safety.
