We are moving from a unidirectional model from the traditional media to a model in which citizens are becoming communication participants. The explosion of the internet, and more recently, of social networks, is allowing any of us to have a potential reach of thousands, millions, or even billions of people and, in turn, different sources of information.<\/p>\n

In this context, the nuclear sector has a unique opportunity to reach society more directly, to people to respond properly to all the mantras and myths spread by opponents of civil nuclear energy, and to tell the reality of this industry from a different perspective.<\/p>\n

For some years now, both companies and organizations in the nuclear sector have been making a remarkable effort to improve communication and outreach to explain the role that nuclear energy plays in society from another point of view.<\/p>\n

It is essential that we nuclear professionals also get involved in outreach, each within our own possibilities and capabilities. We must step forward and be, all of us, spokespersons for our reality, everything that we do not tell about our work, our day-to-day life, our training … others will tell as it has happened in the past.<\/p>\n
