Programa para acompañantes

As usual, the program of visits and excursions for guests of the 46th Annual Meeting tries to bring together the culture, art, history, and traditions of the host city and its autonomous community. Pursuing this idea, and with the possibilities that a city like Granada offers us, the preliminary program has been prepared that we hope will be varied and appealing. 

This series of trips made during the three days of the Meeting is restricted to guests and has a cost in addition to registration.

Wednesday, October 6 - Albaicin and Sacromonte

We will walk through its narrow and silent streets discovering surprising stories full of authenticity; we will visit its emblematic places which will allow us to understand the idiosyncrasy of Granada, a town with a unique history and personality that still remains alive in its most characteristic neighborhoods.

 

4:00 pm – Departure from the convention center 

  • Caldería Nueva (Calle de las Teterías)
  • San Gregorio Church
  • Placeta Porras
  • Mirador de Carvajáles
  • Mirador de San Nicolás
  • Sacromonte Abbey
  • Mirador de San Miguel Alto
  • Visit to the Sacromonte Museum
Thursday, October 7 - Route through Guadix

10:00 am – Departure from the convention center 

  • Visit to the Cathedral and the cathedral museum
  • Tour around the Caves by Tourist Train
  • Stop at the Caves and Visit the Ermita Cave
  • Visit the Mirador
  • Visit the Inhabited Cave
  • Tour by Tourist Train to the Cathedral.

Lunch

  • Walk through the historic center
  • Visit the Roman Theater
  • Tour of the Old Alcaicería and Jewish Quarter
  • Visit the Latin Quarter and Alcazaba

Arrival at the Convention Center at 6:00 pm

Friday, October 8 - Monumental Granada

We will start our tour at the Cartuja Monastery, located in a beautiful area of ​​Nasrid palaces and gardens, next to the Aynadamar canal. The monastery is one of the masterpieces of the Spanish Baroque period and it houses important works by Sánchez-Cotán, José de Mora, José Risueño, Bocanegra, etc. After visiting the monastery, we will continue our walk to the Cathedral and the Royal Chapel of Granada where the graves of Juana la Loca and Felipe el Hermoso are located. To finish, and after lunch, we will visit the Corral del Carbón and Granada Centro.
