Course for teachers
“Nuclear Technology and its Applications in Everyday Life” Course
Foro Nuclear, in collaboration with the Spanish Nuclear Society and the Center for Teachers and Resources of the Region of Murcia, is organizing this course that will be held within the framework of the Annual Meeting of the SNE and is intended for teachers of Secondary Education, Baccalaureate, and Intermediate Vocational Training belonging to this autonomous community.
The 30-hour course will be held from September 26 to October 16, 2022 in a mixed format: 10 face-to-face hours in the city of Cartagena and 20 hours online through the Educational Corner Virtual Classroom.
The contents of the face-to-face portion (10 hours) are detailed below.
Monday, September 26
04:00 pm – 08.00 pm | “THE MAGIC OF SCIENCE OUTREACH” PRESENTATION AND PRACTICAL WORKSHOP
Taught by García Álvarez Grajera, PhD in experimental sciences and expert in intelligence and emotions in the classroom (Location: Facilities at the University of Cartagena, to be determined).

06:00 pm – 08.00 pm | “FROM THE NAUTILUS TO THE VIRGINIA: THE EVOLUTION OF NUCLEAR PROPULSION” CONFERENCE
Taught by Carolina Ahnert, Emeritus Professor of Nuclear Engineering at the Higher Technical School of Naval Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (Location: Roman Theater conference room).

03:30 pm – 06.30 pm | BASIC COURSE ON NUCLEAR SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
Sessions on different topics about “Nuclear Science and Technology,” given by young professionals from the nuclear sector.
