In the “Nuclear Physics from the Laboratory to Improving Peoples’ Health” line of research from IGFAE, a very current topic is being worked on that is the production of PET radioisotopes using a laser instead of conventional accelerators. The concept on which the acceleration of laser particles is based will be explained, in order to move on to a small display of the facility that we have at USC for this purpose.
The workshop will be complemented by some practical demonstrations of some targeting techniques, micrometric positioning and image reconstruction that are used as auxiliaries in this project.
* In order for the activity to be carried out properly, the capacity for this workshop will be limited to 60 participants.
