The city of Vigo will host this year's 45th Annual Meeting of the Spanish Nuclear Society on September 25, 26 and 27, 2019 under the slogan "Essential against climate change".
Professionals and companies in the sector will have their annual meeting point to analyze the current situation of nuclear energy and its future challenges.
The Meeting will be held at the Mar de Vigo Auditorium and Conference Center and will have as its fundamental axis an intense technical program complemented by the collective participation of the attendees in social and cultural events in emblematic places of the city.
This congress has an average participation of some 600 experts from the nuclear sector, participants in sessions in which knowledge of interesting aspects is updated for professionals, not only from the nuclear sector but also from other areas of current interest with a high technical interest and Social.
Parallel to the congress, the Commercial Exhibition will take place where national and international companies and entities will present to all attendees the products, technological advances and services offered to the sector.
The central axis of the event is an intense technical program, consisting of an Opening Session and a Closing Session, attended by scientists and technicians of national and international prestige, managers of the sector, as well as the highest local authorities, autonomous and related to the energy industry.
The technical program includes two plenary sessions, two monographic sessions and two workshops, of the most up-to-date and relevant, dedicated to topics of the nuclear, energy or general interest sector in which experts of the highest level participate.
The core of the program are the technical sessions, in which professionals and national and international experts present their work on relevant projects, outstanding scientific facts or on the progress made in the different subjects in the last year. The technical presentations are presented in parallel oral, poster, multimedia and promotional sessions.
The Meeting also includes activities for the dissemination and training of the society in general, such as the Basic Course of Medical Applications of Ionizing Radiation, given by the Commission of Young Nuclear of the SNE, and that opens its doors to the schools of nursing of the city and anyone who wants to learn or deepen on nuclear technology and its applications in the health sector. In addition, WiN Spain organizes a conference that highlights the importance of nuclear technology with other applications that society does not usually know in depth.
